Why this booklet?
It is important to us that South Africa meets the development targets for 2030. This will ensure a nation free from poverty, hunger and inequality. We want every South African citizen to know their rights, particularly for children, as they are the most vulnerable group. We also wanted to ensure that you know and understand the Sustainable Development Goals so you can engage with your community leaders as your voice matters. Especially as what is done today, will have an impact on our future.
It is not only up to the government to make the SDGs a success, it will also require your participation as a member of the public. By giving you this information, our wish is for every individual to be able to hold government accountable to the commitments they have made by adopting the SDGs. It is up to each of us to make sure that government implements the SDGs, by demanding access to information on government’s SDG implementation plans and activities.

Kubalulekile kithi ukuba iNingizimu Afrika ifinyelele imigomo yentuthuko ebekelwe u-2030. Lokhu kuyoqinisekisa ukuthi sinesizwe esingenanhlupheko, indlala nokungalingani.
