After completing a BA in French and Philosophy and a Master's degree in Translation (Spanish-English and vice versa), I worked for two years as an EAP lecturer in Shanghai. It was during this time that I discovered a passion for Mandarin and decided to study the language full-time for a year in Taiwan. In 2016, I took the TOCFL language exam and was awarded a C1 grade.
Since returning to Ireland at the end of 2016 I have been working as a freelance translator and interpreter. My principal area of expertise is in medical translation. I regularly provide interpretation services for Mandarin, Spanish and French patients in the local hospitals and have translated a number of clinical research articles from Chinese.
I am constantly striving to better my language skills and my computer skills by completing online courses related to my areas of interest and keeping abreast of all the latest developments in translation software. |
