Obtaining an understanding and documentation of our client’s accounting systems and internal controls. This step is interrelated with the cooperation of the internal audit department of the organization. Also during this step a preliminary assessment of significant and critical cycles is performed in order to facilitate the identification of possible risky areas of areas where material misstatement could occur.
We only concentrate on the key internal controls of the Entity and specifically those relating to the projects which are designed to prevent and detect material errors, irregularities or fraud with regard to the Projects funding. The objective is to determine which if the internal controls at the Entity were necessary to achieve the internal control objectives and assess whether these internal controls are suitably designed.
