I am a native English speaker from Ireland and I am currently finishing my MA in Translation Studies at FTSK-Germersheim. I have completed all classes for my studies and will be taking my final oral exam before the end of the current semester. I also have a first-class honours MA in Applied Linguistics from University College Cork and have an excellent standard of written English. I am an experienced translator and have a strong command of German and Irish as well as a good command of Russian. Thanks to an internship and also subsequent freelance contracts for the Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law, I have gained considerable experience of copy-editing and proofreading, developing a strong eye for detail in relation to translations and the editing of English language texts.

I have worked as a quality assurance tester for translated computer games at Activision Ireland. I also have basic experience of website design, content management, video editing and audio editing. I can use translation software such as SDL Trados and MultiTerm competently. I am experienced with Microsoft Office software, and I am an expert user of Microsoft Word. Furthermore, I have taken classes on software localisation, subtitling and computer-aided language transcription and therefore have a basic understanding of XML and HTML coding as well as broad experience of using various language-related software products.
