Source text - English "Amphorae have been studied intensively and have been inventoried and cataloged. Studying the different catalogs and comparing them to the pottery on our site, we can get a better idea of what we are working with. Roman pottery had different trends and fashions just like we have nowadays. Some types of pottery were in production for 300 years, but others only for fifty. Also, the lack of a certain type of pottery can be just as indicative as the pottery found on a given site. For example, there was a major trend in Roman pottery, which is called Terra Sigillata, or more commonly known as Samian ware. It was extremely popular and exported all over the Roman Empire. It began production in the las part of the first century BC. It is common ware pottery with a lush red varnish on the outside. We have found many pieces in the Roman city of Sanisera; however, we have almost finished the excavation of the Roman military fort without finding a single piece. We know from classical sources that the military fort was established in 123 BC. From the lack of Terra Sigillata, we know that it was abandoned before it started production and exportation in the last part of the first century BC."

Source text - English I stared at him aghast, and then hotly told him that I did not have "hongos"! I had learned that word very well in Mexico, mushrooms... the kind you eat. I love mushrooms and, therefore, was sure of the word. I learned the word from my text book in the chapter dealing with the vocabulary of fruits and vegetables. So, when I heard the word "hongos", the image of a perfect mushroom that I would put on a salad or pizza popped into my head. Definitely not what I had.
