Bio
I am a freelance translator/ interpreter recently moved to Berlin.

Due to a German mother and an English father, I was raised bilingually. Although I was born and brought up in the UK, my education was at the German School in London, where I was educated fully in the German system until 16 years of age. Then I decided to attend the UK education system. This makes me a native speaker and writer of both languages. I feel very comfortable translating and interpreting German into English. Also, I studied Japanese at university and lived in Japan for five years in order to perfect my language skills. Three of these years were spent working in translation and as an interpreter for local and national Japanese government. Hence I am also looking to translate and interpret Japanese into English.

After 10 years of translating and interpreting at university, Japanese government and then Fuji TV, Japan's largest commercial broadcaster, I am now freelancing. My specialist fields are news, entertainment, fiction and non-fiction books, film-scripts, PR/ press releases, government related, marketing, localisation, publishing, websites/ blogs and the Arts. I received CLAIR certificates for Translation & Interpretation and Linguistics & Pedagogy and obtained a diploma in Professional Freelance Journalism.

I am always available to work weekdays and weekends and can work unsociable hours if necessary. Please contact me if I can be of any assistance.
