I am an Italian > English (US) translator born in the US but raised in Italy. Growing up I attended la Scuola Santa Barbara Micarelli (AQ) and il Liceo Socio-Psico Pedagogico Domenico Cotugno (AQ). I am currently studying at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and have been translating for 3 years.
I am not simply an American student who has studied some Italian, I grew up speaking Italian and spent 11 years getting an Italian education.
I have a clear conceptual understanding of the content of what I am translating, and have the conversational knowledge to refine translations where this is necessary in order for a concept to be understood by a person from a different culture.
Given my Italian education and my attention to detail I am also able to point out any content-related mistakes or ambiguities in the source text.
