As a linguist and etymologist, I savor the beauty of words and languages. Studying the origins of words, and the similarities and cognates that exist across multiple languages is what I have concentrated on in my years of study. I have bilingual Italian and English skills, earning high school diplomas in Italy and America. I am also fluent in Spanish and Icelandic and conversational in Norwegian. After high school I then went on to earn a Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Iceland. Currently I am working on earning my Master’s degree from the same institution, in International Studies and English.

My studies have also included in-depth analysis of the Latin and Greek languages, as they form the root for many words across dozens of languages. I find comparing and contrasting sounds and meanings of words from different languages very fascinating.

I have been a linguist for 10 years, and a translator for more than 20 years. At a very young age I started working as an interpreter/ Translator for the acclaimed company Alexis International, Inc. My linguistics and etymology work experience has also included translation and proofreading services for texts on a variety of subjects; including education, law, tourism, and other industries.

As you can tell I uphold a passionate commitment to linguistics and etymology. I find great joy in studying all aspects of language and words.
