What Voltaren is used for ?
What belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are used to treat pain and reduce inflammation (swelling &redness).
Voltaren is used to treat:
• Different types of arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
• Other painful conditions where swelling is a problem such as back pain, rheumatism, muscle strains, sprains and tendonitis (e.g.tennis elbow)
• Menstrual cramps (period pain)
• Relieve pain in children after they have had an operation
It can only relieve the symptoms of pain and inflammation but it will not cure your condition.
Ask your doctor if you have questions about why this medicine has been prescribed for you.
Your doctor may have prescribed it for another purpose.
Voltaren is only available with a doctor’s prescription. It is not addictive.
Voltaren suppositories should not be used in children under 12 months of age. Because of their strength, Voltaren 100mg suppositories are not suitable for children and adoloscents.
There is not enough information to recommend the use of Voltaren tablets in children.
Before you use Voltaren
When you must not use it
Do not use Voltaren if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to:
• Diclofenac(the active ingredient in Voltaren) or any of the other ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet.
• Other medicines containing diclofenac(e.g. Voltaren Rapid tables, Voltaren Emulge)
• Aspirin
• Ibuprofen
• Any other NSAID
If you are not sure you are taking any of the above medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction may include:
• Shortness of breath
• ’wheezing or difficulty breathing
• Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or other parts of the body
• Rash, itching or hives on the skin.
Many medicines used to treat headache, period pain and other aches and pains contain aspirin or NSAID medicines. If you are allergic to aspirin or NSAID medicines and you use Voltaren, these symptoms may be severe.
Do not use Votaren if you have had any of the following medical conditions:
• A stomach or intestinal ulcer
• Bleeding from the stomach or bowel (symptoms of which may include blood in your stools or black stools)
• Severe kidney or liver problems
• Severe heart failure

Usage de Voltaren
Voltaren appartient au groupe des médicaments non-stéroïde anti-inflammatoire (NSAIDs), qui se servent de traiter la douleur et de réduire l’inflammation (gonflement et rougeur).
On utilise Voltaren pour guérir:
• Les genres variés d’arthrite qui comprennent de l’arthrite rhumatoïde et l’osteoarthrite
• Les autres conditions plus douloureuses où on a le gonflement comme la douleur au dos, les rhumatismes, les souches musculaires, les entorses et les tendinites (ex. coude de tennis)
• Les crampes menstruelles (la douleur de menstrues)

Ce médicament peut soulager la douleur et l’inflammation mais ne peut pas guérir votre condition

Consultant Anaesthetist, Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management, the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Cyrus Roy is a specialist cardiothoracic anaesthetist with an academic interest in echocardiography; pain management in cardiac surgery, and evaluation of left ventricular systolic and diastolic function using pressure volume loops. He has completed a Doctorate of Medicine thesis in "Applications of Transoesophageal Echocardiography in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Surgery". His areas of interest in cardiac anaesthesia include echocardiography, the use of epidural analgesia, and anaesthesia for off-pump surgery.
He was appointed Associate Professor, University of Melbourne in 2003 and Professor in 2010, and is Co-Head of the Human Cardiovascular Research Laboratory within the Department of Pharmacology, focusing on the evaluation of pharmacological agents using pressure volume loops and echocardiography.

Introduction to the Course
Welcome to the ASA/SCA Basic TEE course. You will already have received a number of instructional documents showing you how to access the tutorials, and how to log on and sign on in order to get tutorials activated. You will also understand the various components of each tutorial that are packaged in a portfolio.
This tutorial is introductory and is not examinable.
As the name of the course implies, this is a collaborative development between the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), and the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA), in conjunction with Heartweb who will run the course
Our philosophy as echocardiography educators is to provide you with the knowledge base to become competent in Basic TEE and to satisfy the requirements of the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) for Basic TEE accreditation via a CME style program. By providing you with distance-based education, we can provide education that is conducted in your own time and home location. We have found that this facilitates learning as we have removed the hurdles of having to attend meetings or examination places in order to complete work.
However, you will need to organize sufficient hands-on experience to become confident in the acquisition of echocardiography images. In reality, acquisition of images is not that difficult, but practice is important to obtain good images in difficult patients. What is difficult is the acquisition of good knowledge!
All critical care physicians worry about learning image acquisition, but with a good knowledge base and knowing what you are looking at, the image acquisition becomes less anxiety provoking.

En fait, l’acquisition des images n’est pas difficile, mais on conseil la pratique afin d’avoir de bonnes images dans les patients difficiles. Ce qui est difficile est l’acquisition de bonne connaissance!
Tous les médecins de soins intensifs s’inquiètent d’avoir la connaissance d’acquisition des images, mais avec une bonne base de connaissance et le savoir-faire de ce que vous attendez, l’acquisition des images deviennent une tâche moins stimulante.

Source text - English Clinical Ultrasound in Heartscan:
The principal of this course is simple. All medical specialties need an understanding of basic haemodynamic state and basic cardiac assessment using ultrasound, in order to effectively manage acutely unwell patients, patients with multiple comorbidities or advanced age. This also serves to instruct students on the basics of ultrasound principles and techniques. The second part to this course is to provide useful and clinically relevant ultrasound practice that can be immediately applied by a student in their own medical specialty and clinical practice. Therefore the emphasis is to provide immediately applicable ultrasound training to a very wide range of medical specialty is at a moderately advanced level.
In this regard, we are promoting the concept of limited transthoracic echocardiography to perform Haemodynamic Echocardiographic Assessment in Real Time, or HEARTscan for short. The study should take about 5 minutes once you have practiced it and it can be repeated as often as required without causing any risk to the patient. We believe this may well be an important future development in perioperative management of patients.
We strongly believe that the entry point to the use of ultrasound in non-cardiac anaesthesia, intensive care medicine, and emergency medicine will be performed using surface ultrasound techniques

A cet égard, nous faisons des promotions d’un concept transthoracique échocardiographie limitée afin d’effectuer l’évaluation d’échocardiographie hémodynamique en temps real, ou HEARTscan. La pratique va durer pas plus de 5 minutes une fois qu’on l’a fait parfaitement et peut répéter plusieurs fois quand nécessaire sans causer aucun risque au patient. Nous croyons que cette pratique sera un développement important dans l’avenir en gestion periopérative des patients.
Nous croyons fortement que le point de commencement dans l’usage de l’ultrason en anesthésie non-cardiaque, médicine de soins intensifs et médicine d’urgence sera l’utilisation des techniques de l’ultrason de surface.

• Specification maximum pressure is set to the [ Pres. ] setting.
• 0. 0000 is set to the [ Time] setting.
• This prevents sprue clogging, double-hit, and pressure rise due to input errors.
• In monitoring mode, the setting can be changed to [ Auto] as before.

Bio
A multilingual professional passionate about teaching and facilitating courses in languages which include English, French and Spanish. Till date, I have taught ESL, SEE, GE, ELICOS and EAP programs here in Melbourne. Having lived in 4 different countries has provided me extensive cultural awareness to facilitate courses among students from varied cultures and of different ages.
Additional interest in proofreading enables me to coach my students with regard to grammar, spellings and editing thus helping them enhance their writing skills., Currently proofread research papers for PhD students and have provided proofreading services while working at CCEO and The University of Melbourne.
With regard to voice-overs and translations, a debutant in the Melbourne market, but have previous experience of doing voice-overs in Mumbai as a Freelancer in Foreign Languages. Currently, I have had the opportunity to provide voice for a video game for a private organization 'Clementia', for a music choir CD at South Yarra Christ Church and voice-over for Office Works. Also providing translation services at Qtrans Languages and Globibo Language Solutions and telephone interpretations in French and Hindi for Jeenie; a US based language services company.
My goal is to provide expertise in the different languages that I have studied. I am constantly improving my language efficiency along with other relevant skills like class management, business management,, assessments, professional development, interview coaching, resume and cover letter writing, computer skills. I am researching a job wherein I will be able to teach English or French to students or where I will be able to proofread and provide expert advice on resumes and cover letters or coach students on interview skills. Beside the above a freelancer arrangement in English, French or Spanish will be highly desirable.
