The practice of integrating bags, tubing, and filters into preassembled, ready-to-use bioprocess solutions is optimized if noninvasive sensing of critical process parameters is part of the package. These single-use assemblies frequently require treatment for bio-burden reduction or sterilization by nonthermal methods such as gamma irradiation because of the incompatibility of most bioprocess bag materials with temperatures associated with sterilization.
The benefits of single-use technology, including its ability to focus internal resources on core activities versus ancillary tasks such as cleaning validation and the expenses associated with that activity, have been well publicized. With all of the benefits that disposable technologies offer, performance—especially the monitoring and control of process conditions—must not be sacrificed.
Critical process parameters that are often monitored include pressure, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, UV absorbance, flow, and turbidity. The packages that contain the traditional technologies for monitoring these parameters are not usually compatible with or effective when integrated into single-use assemblies for many reasons: cost, cross contamination, inability to maintain a closed system, and system incompatibility with gamma irradiation.

La práctica de integrar bolsas, tuberías y filtros en soluciones de bioprocesos prearmadas e inmediatas se optimiza si también se incluye la detección del tipo no invasiva de los parámetros críticos de proceso. Estos ensamblajes desechables frecuentemente requieren de tratamiento para la reducción de la carga biológica o esterilización mediante métodos no térmicos, tales como la irradiación gamma, debido a la incompatibilidad de la mayoría de los materiales de las bolsas empleadas en los bioprocesos con las temperaturas asociadas a la esterilización.
Los beneficios de la tecnología desechable, los cuales ya se han dado a conocer, incluyen la habilidad de focalizar los recursos internos en las actividades principales contra las tareas complementarias tales como la validación de la limpieza y los costos asociados a ésta. Con todos los beneficios que las tecnologías desechables ofrecen, el desempeño no puede sacrificarse (en especial el monitoreo y control de las condiciones de proceso).
Entre los parámetros críticos de proceso que frecuentemente se monitorean se encuentran: presión, pH, oxígeno disuelto, conductividad, absorbancia UV, flujo y turbidez. Aquellos sistemas que presentan la tecnología tradicional para control de estos parámetros generalmente no son compatibles o efectivos cuando se los integra en ensamblajes desechables, debido a diferentes motivos: costo, contaminación cruzada, incapacidad de mantener un sistema cerrado, e incompatibilidad del sistema con la irradiación gamma.

As a consequence, I am specialised in technical texts, particularly in the
chemistry field. Because I worked for important organisations as a laboratory technician
for almost ten years, I have deep knowledge and experience in chemical laboratories.
I have translated many international procedures, standards and methods in the field.
I worked for three years at a company of aftercare products in the UK, performing
both as a chemist and as a translator. My main roles were to ensure compliance of
the consumer products in the EU/UK and to manage the translations of all product-related
texts, such as safety data sheets, ingredient data sheets, labels and the technical
website.
I afterwards worked for a year and a half at a cosmetics company, where I
ensured compliance of cosmetics in the EU/UK. I compiled Cosmetic Product Safety
Reports (CPSR) and Product Information Files (PIF); I notified the products in the EU Notification Portal (CPNP); I communicated frequently with the authorities and trade
associations, and I dealt with all sorts of queries related to quality and regulatory
affairs.
Since I moved back to Argentina in 2018 I have continued
my specialisation in the fields. Now I not only carry out the same work that I did
while working in the UK (mainly compliance under CLP, REACH, Detergents Reg. 648/2004,
Cosmetics Reg. 1223/2009) but I also guide companies which plan to place their products
in the Latin American markets, ensuring compliance in each country.
As a translator, I work mainly in these fields: Chemistry, Labware, Cosmetics
and Fragrances, Detergents/Surfactants, Food Industry, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering,
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), CLP
(Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemicals), GHS (Globally Harmonized

Control System), EH&S (Environment, Health and Safety), Hydrology, Soil and
