I have an interpreter's degree (Diplom-Dolmetscherin) for English and French from the Germersheim language school of Mainz University (1984), my mother tongue is German.
I worked for 13 years in the rubber industry near Cologne, specializing in rubber technology and chemical engineering (R&D) and have thus acquired particular proficiency in translating mainly conference papers, articles for technical magazines, product presentations, test methods, material safety data sheets (mainly from and into English).
As a freelancer, I have been doing translations both from and into English in technical areas such as petrochemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, and related subjects (proposals, contracts and other texts).
In addition, I work as an interpreter in many fields (both from and into English), technical, banking, medical, social affairs, and many more.
Furthermore, I have done a number of translation and interpreting jobs for the police and possess special knowledge of its structure, organization, and way of functioning. |
