I have a BA in English Literature from Damascus University (earned in 2004), and an MA in audio-visual (subtitling/dubbing & CAT) translation from Damascus University (earned in 2011).
I worked in teaching English as a second and foreign language between 2006 - 2014. My teaching experience also included teaching English online at the Syrian Virtual University, and teaching audio-visual translation to MA students at Damascus University.
I have also been working in translation since 2009, starting as a full time freelance translator in 2012, and then moving to work as a translator/interpreter at an international implementor organization working that is focused on development and media. I moved to a monitoring and evaluation position which also involves a good amount of translation on a daily basis.
My most important strengths are written and consecutive translation and I am a very strong translator from Arabic to English given my long experience in teaching English, my long-term contact with native speakers, and my experience in multi-national companies and organizations. I have been credited to be a fast and efficient translator by my clients and in all places where I worked as a full-time translator.
