My career is probably somewhat more chequered than most. Born in Germany, I spent several years before and during my studies travelling and teaching languages in Ireland, Mexico, the US and Spain. After my degree in 1986 I moved to London, where I began working as a translator and interpreter as well as running language classes for investment banks. In 1989 I returned to settle in Ireland where I continued in this field while also taking up art and landscape gardening in the mid-90s.

While these latter areas have been my main occupations during the last ten years, I have always retained an active interest in languages by maintaining and improving my level of articulacy in Spanish and French and lately aquiring a fair level of modern Greek. More recently I have become involved in technical writing in both my capacity as the administrator for an artists collective (Marlborough Studios; grant-writing, proposals, submissions) and as a landscape gardener (project proposals).

My native language is German, but my principal and best language is English, and I can write in both. I am based in Ireland, but also spend part of the year in Paris and Nuremberg in Germany.
I continue to be committed to my work as an artist, but would greatly enjoy doing more work in the interpreting, technical writing and research areas.
