Flirtation with non-conformism is an integral part of prevailing values. Awareness of the decay of values has its role to play in sales strategy. More and more pure rubbish is marketed. The figurine salt-shaker of Kennedy, complete with "bullet-holes" through which to pour salt, for sale in the supermarket, should be enough to convince anybody, if there is anybody who still needs convincing, how easily a joke which once would have delighted Ravachol or Peter the Painter now merely helps to keep the market going.

La frenética necesidad de la sociedad de consumo de fabricar nuevas necesidades se aprovecha hábilmente de lo estrambótico, lo estrafalario y lo chocante. El humor negro y la agonía real van apareciendo en Madison Avenue. Flirtear con el no conformismo es una parte integral de los valores que prevalecen. La consciencia de la decadencia de valores tiene un papel que jugar en la estrategia de ventas. La descomposición vende. Más y más basura se comercializa. I have a BA in English from Universidad de La Laguna, specialized in literature. I like sci-fi, horror above all, but I have dealt with, and like to read, any kind of literary genre in English and Spanish.
I have been always a big fan of videogames, and have worked for a major videogames company, translating the videogame itself (onscreen text, dialogues, etc.) and the instructions manual, website, legal texts, etc.
Another fields I can deal with:
-music: I have played, and play, in several bands. I write reviews and interviews for an online music magazine, both in English and Spanish.
-nutrition and gastronomy: since I became vegan I got to read with lots of exhaustive manuals and texts regarding nutrition, health and gastronomy, both in English and Spanish. I am highly interested in these topics.
-IT and technical translations: I have dealt with psychological and sociological, so I am perfectly able to cope with any technical translation without a big content of technical expressions. I have also studied the first year of Computer Studies at Universidad de La Laguna.
-Right now I am translating text with high phylosophical, sociological and political content.
-Legal and economic translations: I am studying a course in Escuela de Traductores Sampere about Legal Translation. I am preparing myself for the Sworn Translator examination next September.
