I am a native speaker of English from Birmingham in the United Kingdom. I moved to the Netherlands in 1996 and since then have worked in a wide range of dynamic international environments, including Marktplaats-eBay and Modus Media International. I command a professional level of both spoken and written Dutch. After having worked for a translation office for a year, I went on to complete a Bachelor's degree course in English Translation. In 2008, I founded my own company, LiDa Language Services, and now work as a self-employed English language professional. I am comfortable with working with computer-based technologies and welcome the challenge of working with new applications. Through previous employment, I have gained vast experience in a wide range of language, client-oriented applications including the back and front office systems of an online classifieds website (Marktplaats-ebay), database applications (client databases and payment systems), Access, Minerva, R.R. Donelley, O.F.S. database software. Furthermore, I have a working knowledge of CAT software including SDLX and SDL Trados. At LiDa Language Services, I currently work with Windows Vista, Microsoft Office 2000 and SDL Trados 2006.
