About me I studied at the University of Granada where I obtained my Degree in Translation and Interpreting, with modern languages Spanish, English, French and Modern Greek, the main subjects. I started teaching Spanish to foreigners in the north of Greece 11 years ago and since then I have not stopped trying to spread my enthusiasm for foreign languages and cultures. I have lived in Spain, Finland, Greece, Cyprus and I currently reside in the UK. My comprehensive history working as a Language Teacher in these countries with all proficiency levels and age groups shows that I am a prolific professional with a deep understanding of the Spanish language. In 2006 I decided to make a short break in my career to make a nine-month period traineeship in a Translation Office in London. This experience provided me with good background knowledge in the area of legal translation that I consolidated with practice. Continuing with my professional development I participate regularly in workshops and courses and I am also studying a Masters in Applied Linguistics with the Open University. Currently, I work as a freelance translator on a full-time basis translating, editing and proofreading. I translate from Greek and English into Spanish, my mother tongue. My areas of expertise are: law, education, pedagogy, military and defence but I adapt to other fields with the same level of confidence. Hopefully all the above will give a good insight of my professional background and shows that I am a competent translator committed to deliver the best service. |
