INTRODUCTION
On the Origin of Species by Means of Civilization of Konstantinos Maritsas is a magisterial philosophical work that manages to clarify all of the most complex philosophical concepts - civilisationists, religious, linguistic - of all the countries and of all eras. A more complex challenge to which Maritsas K. worked for several years. After a multitude of readings and personal reflections, especially with a critical and rebellious eye, that of the philosopher who took his time to philosophize, Konstantinos Maritsas put pen to paper to challenge the ways and ideologies transcribed until then in the depths of humanity and the history of Philosopy.
On the footsteps of Darwin, Konstantinos Maritsas continues to build on the work of the most famous naturalists, On the Origin of Species by Means of natural selection; or the preservations of favorite races in the struggle for life published in 1872, and resumed in 2016, a century and a half later, all dogmatic assertions and theories about the origin and the evolution of species that it exposes with great clarity supporting a multitude of theoreticians, physicists, zoologists, naturalists, psychologists and other scientists.
The additional contribution brought by K. Maritsas to the theory of natural selection by Darwin and the theoretical principles of evolution described by him, it is the connection between man and the civilization that undoubtedly has also a big role to play in the evolution of the human species. For Maritsas, if he resumes all theories of ape and the Homo sapiens, it is the human being he is mainly interested and whom he focuses over his study.
If science has facts, the philosophy provides a logical and rational order in which it tries to adjust the facts, highlights Konstantinos Maritsas who retakes at first glance the theory of the naked ape from which it is supposed to come the human - since it is accepted that the human was separated from the body evolved from higher primates. But if this fact is boldly explored, this shows that men could be the ancestors of chimpanzees and not the opposite, underlines Maritsas who resumes this time the theory Kafetzopoulos.
According to K. Maritsas, Darwin was a scientist and not a philosopher. Being so, Darwin attempted to find examples so he could arrange them in his scientific theory.
Then, Maritsas relies on the philosophy of the entire world, and especially to the Greek philosophers, the country where was born the philosophy – the word is in fact invented by Pythagoras that, according to him, used to say that he is not “σοφóς” (wise), but “φιλóσοφος” (friend of wisdom). Maritsas recalls that there are two theories on the philosophy: on one hand, the natural selection theory; and on the other, the theory of evolution. An idea that has been prepared long time before Darwin's work, by Empedocle (philosopher before Socrates) and his theory of evolution. (Empedocle has been influenced by the Pythagoreans and Parmenides). Then there is the biological theory of Aristotle: the theory of the immovability of species. According to Aristotle, species are eternal, unchangeable and are transmitted unaltered from one generation to another. There is no evolution in the organic structure of animals since every species arrived in the highest possible perfection. Furthermore, all species can be classified into a scale standing from the simplest one to the most complex.
On this, K. Maritsas is working to explain the essence of origin or origins. Because in effect, if anyone would focus on the how, nobody would never look at the why. And it is this "Why" so difficult to deduce after so many theories and dogmas coming from the greatest physicists of the world, and the greatest philosophers of ancient Greece, the French philosophers too, that K. Maritsas tries to bring light in this book composed of seven chapters, an introduction and an Epilogue and dotted with more than 170 figures and pictures of an important index of proper names. K. Maritsas returns to the origins and to Greek philosophy, Pythagoras Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Cleobulus, Solon, Thales, Bias. In Protagoras, Socrates says that the twin titans responsible for distributing the most newly created animals with traits because of lack of foresight, they had nothing more to distribute to the last remaining, the human being. While Maritsas refers to animals, all animals, with great fondness to the ape, what interests him at the end is the human being.
It is the human evolution that K. Maritsas observes from the conditions of natural selection to the conditions of the civilization. It is this rupture between men and animals, between civilization and natural selection that K. Maritsas sets to himself as challenge to bridge in this original book.
In the book, Maritsas keeps bringing up science and philosophy that he tries to define and distinguish to see on which we can be based for an answer. Because in effect, the answers are several, even as much as theorists, scientists or philosophers, but Maritsas does not forget his purpose. Because, as he says himself, in every question there is an answer. Thus, for Maritsas, science has the facts that it tries to adjust in a logical sequence, whereas philosophy provides a logical order in which it tries to adjust the facts. Principles that are taken as hypotheses to explain and to classify a series of facts.
In philosophy, if we want to explain the position of the human being on the earth, we must appeal the evolution of man. This is reflected in the trends adopted by the non-scientists, stresses Maritsas who also refers to Creationism and the theory of the Creator who created everything that has always been a highlighted response. The author does not forget the remainder of Confucius, the great Chinese philosopher, who said, "If names are not correct, language is not consistent to the truth of things."
A simple reasoning can set the record straight and express things through the correct use of words. Even the linguistics has to play a big role in the evolution of species since we have to put a word to a phenomenon, a "chic" word according to the psychologist Edgar Zurif. Indeed, every "science" (language, physics, chemistry, etc ...) is a part of the truth about the origin of species through the elaboration of every theory.
However, Maritsas reports that the intention of his book is "an explanation of the facts" and not their "re-statement" as Darwin said. So, following the footsteps of Darwin, Darwinian himself, Konstantinos Maritsas raises some questions on the methodology of the initiator of Origins of species that he resumes, he questions and he evolves in the twenty-first century, placing a double perspective: that of the Scientific (Maritsas is engineer and physicistr) and that of the philosopher (Maritsas has a dual training as a philosopher).
If science has answers about the evolution and the phenomena through observations, equationsor statistics, the question of "Why" can find its answer only in the philosophy.
So, after searching all the books and scientific theories, of the greatest Americans, British and Europeans scientists, still leaning on Darwin's theory, Konstantinos Maritsas focuses on the philosophy in trying to explain the why of things, the why of the life and of its definition (organisms, species, animals), the why of the civilization and of its definition (women, children, religion), the why of the language and of the art, the why of truth and of the lies, the wisdom and the artificial intelligence, and finally the why of the evolution, of the creation and of the extinction of species, and the why of the resemblance between male children to their mothers and female ones to their fathers.
After a multitude of reflections and assumptions, in correlation with civilization and conservation of species in their struggle for survival, Maritsas manages to philosophize and explain the origin of species. In his book, he argues that the human being is determined by different laws of the biological evolution's ones. The human being can not be governed by the laws of nature and from its selection (he could not survive because he has not been developed as animals did). He said that this was impossible. Several philosophers and scientists do not believe in the biological evolution, neither does Maritsas. In that case, what may determine the evolution of the human species? Maybe civilization, pushes Maritsas, that is to say the inverse of the natural selection. It is the assumption and the base of this work. This is its first objective too.
In all these theories Konstantinos Maritsas is seeking the truth: Why humans have created civilization? To answer this, K. Maritsas recalls the physician Dimitri Nanopoulos who is working in the problems that emerge during the attempt to create a theory of Everything, who spoke about "The Universe [who] emerged from a fluctuating quantum of the vacuum." Alongside the Nanopoulos theory, there is the theory of advanced objectification by the psychologists Barbara Fredrickson and Tomi-Ann Roberts who talk about women's appearance and of the vestimentary. Konstantinos Maritsas resumes the Master Darwin's theory to build his own, a new and more rational one at the beginning of the XXI century. Maritsas adds the civilization and its effects that he has developed in more than two hundred pages. According to Konstantinos Maritsas, the natural selection is the survival of the strongest and the civilization is the survival of the weakest.
After searching for a long time all the theories and all the theorists, all the merged disciplines, Maritsas returns to the observations of the great master Darwin that he follows as an example: "The great break in the organic chain between the human being and his closest allies, who can not be filled by all of the extinct or living species, has often been observed as a serious objection to the belief that man is descended from a lower form; but its objection does not appear to greatly influence those who, for general reasons, believe in the general principle of the evolution." (1838)
And the conclusions of Maritsas: "The big rupture between men and animals, between the civilization and the natural selection, I hope it has been filled in this book."
Here is the power and the value of this significant book that will be a great contribution to the future generations, intended for a wide and varied audience, initiated or not. A work of an encyclopedic value for anything it brings and synthesizes, and an inspiring book for its analytical clarity and its new reflection that brings. A book of a philosophical and indisputable value that will influence human thought and the art of philosophy of the XXI century.

On the Origin of Species by Means of Civilization de Konstantinos Maritsas est un ouvrage philosophique magistral qui réussit à mettre à plat tous les concepts philosophiques les plus complexes —civilisationistes, religieux, linguistiques— de tous les pays et de toutes les époques. Un défi de plus complexes auquel K. Maritsas a travaillé depuis de nombreuses années. Après une multitude de lectures et de reflexions personnelles, et surtout et avec un regard critique et contestataire, celui du philosophe qui a pris tout son temps de philosopher, Konstantinos Maritsas prend la plume pour contester des manières et des idéologies transcrites jusqu’à là au plus profond de l’humanité et de l’histoire de la philosopie.
Sur la lignée de Darwin, Konstantinos Maritsas s’appuie sur l’ouvrage du plus célèbre des naturalistes, Sur les origines des espèces par voie de sélection naturelle; ou la préservation des races favorisées dans la lutte pour la vie paru en 1872, et reprend en 2016, un siècle et demi plus tard, toutes les théories et affirmations dogmatiques sur l’origine et l’évolution des espèces qu’il expose avec une grande clarté à l’appui d’une multititude de théoriciens, physiciens, zoologistes, naturalistes, psychologues et autres scientifiques.

Car Maritsas, s’il reprend toutes les théories du singe et de l’homo sapiens, c’est à l’homme à qui il s’intéresse principalement et qu’il met au centre de son étude.
Si la science dispose de faits, la philosophie procure un ordre logique et rationnel dans lequel elle essaie d’ajuster les faits, souligne Konstantinos Maritsas qui reprend a prime abord la théorie du singe nu d’où il est supposé de venir l’homme — puisqu’il est accepté que l’homme a été separé du corps évolué de primates supérieurs. Mais si ce fait est exploré avec audace, cela montre que l’homme pourrait être l’ancêtre du chimpanzé et non le contraire, souligne Maritsas qui reprend cette fois la théorie de Kafetzopoulos.
D’après K. Maritsas, Darwin était un scientifique et pas un philosophe. En tant que scientifique, Darwin a cherché trouver des exemples pour les arranger dans sa théorie scientifique.
Maritsas recourt alors aux philosophes du monde entier, et spécialement aux philosophes grecs, le pays où est s’est vu naître la philosophie — le mot est d’ailleurs inventé par Pythagoras qui quant à lui, avait l’habitude de dire qu’il n’est pas “σοφóς” (sage), mais “φιλóσοφος” (ami de la sagesse).
Maritsas rappelle qu’en philosophie il y a deux théories : d’une part, la théorie de la selection naturelle, et de l’autre, la théorie de l’évolution. Une idée qui a été préparée longtemps avant le travail de Darwin, par Empedocle (philosophe avant Socrate) et sa théorie de l’évolution. (Empedocle a été influencé par les Pythagoriens et les Parmenides). Puis, il y a la théorie biologique de Aristote : la théorie de la fixité des espèces. Selon Aristote, les espèces sont éternelles, inchangeables et sont transmises inalterées d’une génération à l’autre. Il n’y a pas d’évolution dans la structure organique des animaux puisque, chaque espèce est arrivée à la meilleure perfection possible. D’autre part, toutes les espèces peuvent être classifiées dans une eschelle continue du plus simple au plus complexe.
Sur cela, K. Maritsas se donne à expliquer l’essence de l’origine ou des origines. Car en effet, si tout le monde se concentre sur le comment, jamais personne ne s’est penché sur le pourquoi. Et c’est ce “Pourquoi” si difficile à déduire après tant des théories et dogmes venus de plus grands physiciens du monde, et de plus grands philosophes de l’Antiquité grecque, les philosophes français aussi, que K. Maritsas essaie d’apporter à la lumière dans ce livre composé de sept chapitres, une Introduction et un Epilogue et parsemé de plus de 170 figures et photos d’un important Index des noms propres.
K. Maritsas revient aux origines et à la philosophie grecque, Pythagoras Platon, Socrates,
Aristote, Cleobule, Solon, Thales, Bias. Dans Protagoras, Socrate raconte que les titans jumeaux chargés de distribuer les traits aux animaux les plus nouvellement créés, par manque de prévoyance, ils n’avaient plus rien à distribuer au dernier qui restait, l’homme. En effet, si Maritsas fait référence aux animaux, à tous les animaux, avec une grande prédilection au singe, ce qui l’intéresse au fonf c’est l’homme.
C’est l’évolution humaine que K. Maritsas observe à partir des conditions de la sélection naturelle vers les conditions de la civilisation. C’est cette rupture entre les hommes et les animaux, entre la civilisation et la sélection naturelle que K. Maritsas se donne comme défi à combler dans ce livre original.
Dans le livre, Maritsas revient sans cesse sur la science et la philosophie qu’il essaie de définir et de distinguer pour voir sur laquelle on peut s’appuyer pour avoir une réponse. Car en effet, les réponses sont plusieurs, au moins autant que les théoriciens, scientistes ou philosophes, mais Maritsas n’oublie pas son objectif. Car, comme il le dit lui-même, dans chaque question il y a la réponse. Ainsi, pour Maritsas, la science dispose des faits qu’elle essaie d’ajuster dans une suite logique, alors que la philosophie procure un ordre logique dans lequel elle essaie d’ajuster les faits. Des principes qui sont pris comme des hypothèses pour expliquer et classifier une série des faits.
En philosophie, si l’on veut expliquer la position de l’homme sur la terre on doit fair appel à l’évolution de l’homme. Ce fait est refleté dans les tendances adoptées par les non-scientifiques, souligne Maritsas qui évoque en outre le Créationnisme et la théorie du Créateur qui a tout créé qui a toujours été une réponse mise en avant. L’auteur n’oublie pas du reste Confucius, le grand philosophe chinois qui a dit : “Si les noms ne soient pas corrects, la langue n’est pas conforme à la vérité des choses.”
Un raisonnement simple peut remettre les pendules et exprimer les choses à travers l’utilisation correcte des mots. La linguistique a un grand rôle aussi à jouer dans l’évolution des espèces puisqu’il faut mettre un mot à un phénomène, un mot “chic” selon le psychologue Edgar Zurif. En effet, chaque “science” (linguistique, physique, chimie, etc...) a une part de la vérité sur l’origine des espèces à travers l’élaboration de toute une théorie chacune.
Toutefois, Maritsas signale que l’intention de son livre est “une explication des faits” et non pas leur “re-déclaration” comme le disait Darwin. À la lignée alors de Darwin, Darwinien lui-même, Konstantinos Maritsas se pose des questions sur la méthogologie de l’initiateur des Origines des espèces qu’il reprend, qu’il interroge et qu’il fait évoluer en ce XXIe siècle, en posant un double regard, celui du scientifique (Maritsas est ingénieur physicien) et celui de philosophe (Maritsas a une double formation de philosophe).
Si les sciences ont des réponses sur l’évolution et les phénomènes par des observations, équations ou statistiques, la question de “Pourquoi”, peut trouver sa réponse seulement dans la philosophie.
Ainsi, après avoir fouillé tous les livres et les théories scientifiques, de plus grands scientifiques, Américains, Britanniques et Européens, Konstantinos Maritsas, appuyé toujours sur la théorie de Darwin, s’attache à la philosophie pour essayer d’expliquer le pourquoi des choses, le pourquoi de la vie et de sa définition (des organismes, des espèces, des animaux), le pourquoi de la civilisation et de sa définition (des femmes, des enfants, de la religion), le pourquoi de la langue et de l’art, le pourquoi de la vérite et du mensonge, de la sagesse et de l’intelligence artificielle, et enfin le pourquoi de l’évolution, de la création et de la disparition des espèces, et le pourquoi de la ressemblance des males à la mère et des femelles à leur père.
Après une multitude de reflexions et de suppositions, en corrélation avec la civilisation et la préservation des espèces dans leur lutte pour la survie, Maritsas arrive à philosopher et expliquer l’origine des espèces. Dans son livre, il avance que l’homme est determiné par des lois différentes des lois de l’évolution biologique. L’homme ne peut pas être gouverné par des lois de la nature et de la selection de la nature (il ne pourrait pas survivre car il ne s’est pas developpé comme les animaux). Ceci est impossible, dit-il. Plusieurs philosophes et scientifiques ne croient pas à l’évolution biologique, Maritsas non plus. Dans ce cas, qu’est-ce qu’il détermine l’évolution de l’espèce humaine ? Peut-être la civilisation, avance Maritsas, c’est-à-dire l’inverse de la selection naturelle. C’est la supposition et le fond de cet ouvrage. C’est son objectif premier aussi.
Dans toutes ces théories Konstantinos Maritsas cherche une vérité : Pourquoi l’Homme a créé la Civilisation ? Pour y répondre, K. Maritsas a recours au physicien Dimitri Nanopoulos qui travaille dans les problèmes qui emergent dans la tentative de créer une théorie de Tout, et qui a parlé de “L’Univers [qui] a émergé d’un fluctuent quantique du vide.” À côté de la théorie de Nanopoulos, il y a la théorie de l’objectivation avancée par les psychologues Barbara Fredrickson and Tomi-Ann Roberts qui parlent de l’apparence des femmes et du vestimentaire. Konstantinos Maritsas reprend la théorie du Maître Darwin pour construire la sienne, une nouvelle, plus rationnelle à l’aube du XXIe siècle. Maritsas ajoute la civilisation et ses effets qu’il développe dans plus de deux cents pages. Selon Konstantinos Maritsas, la sélection naturelle est la survie de la puissanse et la civilisation est la survie des plus faibles.
Après avoir longtemps fouillé toutes les théories et tous les théoriciens, toute discipline cofondue, Maritsas revient aux observations du grand maître Darwin qu’il prend comme modèle : “La grande rupture dans la chaîne biologique entre l’homme et ses alliés les plus proches, qui ne peuvent pas être comblés par tout sur des espèces éteintes ou vivantes, a souvent été avancée comme une grave objection à la croyance que l’homme est descendu d’une forme inférieure; mais son objection ne fera pas apparaître beaucoup de poids à ceux qui, pour des raisons générales, croient dans le principe général de l’évolution.” (1838)
Et à Maritsas de conclure : “La grande rupture entre les hommes et les animaux, entre la civilisation et la sélection naturelle, j’espère avoir été comblée dans ce livre.”
Voilà la force et la valeur de ce livre significatif qui sera d’un grand apport pour les générations à venir, destiné à un public large et varié, initié ou pas. Un ouvrage de valeur encyclopédique pour tout qu’il apporte et synthétise, et un livre lumineux pour sa clarté d’analyse et la nouvelle reflexion qu’il mène. Un livre de valeur philosophique inconstestable qui influencera la pensée humaine et l’art de philosopher du XXIe siècle.
