Source text - English XYZ0000 is an investigational drug being developed as a once weekly subcutaneous (injection under the skin) (SC) study treatment to control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
XYZ0000 may also cause weight loss.
Investigational means that the study drug being tested has not been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory authority for use in humans.
Dulaglutide (also known as TTTT®) and “Placebo” will also be used in this study.
Dulaglutide (TTTT®) is an FDA-approved drug used in combination with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.
“Placebo” is a substance that contains no active ingredients.
Because this is a study, XYZ0000, dulaglutide, and placebo will only be given to you during this study and not after the study is over.
XYZ0000 and placebo may be referred to as the “study drug” or “study treatment” throughout this consent form.
Translation - Spanish El XYZ0000 es un fármaco en investigación que se está desarrollando como tratamiento del estudio, el cual se administra en forma de inyección subcutánea (s.c., debajo de la piel) una vez por semana para controlar los niveles de glucemia (glucosa en sangre) en las personas con diabetes de tipo 2.
El XYZ0000 también puede ocasionar pérdida de peso.
En investigación significa que el fármaco del estudio que se está evaluando aún no ha sido aprobado para el uso en seres humanos por la Administración de Alimentos y Medicamentos (Food and Drug Administration, FDA) de los Estados Unidos ni por ninguna otra autoridad reguladora.
En este estudio, también se utilizarán la dulaglutida (también conocida como TTTT®) y un “placebo”.
La dulaglutida (TTTT®) es un fármaco aprobado por la FDA que se emplea en combinación con dieta y ejercicio para favorecer el control de la glucemia en adultos con diabetes de tipo 2.
El “placebo” es una sustancia que no contiene ningún principio activo.
Dado que este es un estudio, el XYZ0000, la dulaglutida y el placebo se le administrarán únicamente durante este estudio, y no los recibirá después de que el estudio finalice.
El XYZ0000 y el placebo pueden denominarse “fármaco del estudio” o “tratamiento del estudio” a lo largo de todo este formulario de consentimiento.
