Off the record, I have been translating documents from English to Greek and vice versa for the past ten years. For colleagues, fellow students, students I have tutored, friends. During the past year (2012), I have ventured to turn, what has always come naturally to me, into MY profession. Currently, I have been working translating mostly thesis papers in the following subjects: Information Technology, e-Commerce. My expertise though lies in the medical sciences' field. Nevertheless, because of my excellent knowledge of both languages, as well as my personality always trying to achieve perfection in whatever I take on, no subject area is off limits when it comes to my translating a document. I was born in the United States, but was raised in Greece by my Greek father and American mother. I went off to college in Boston and graduated from Simmons College with a degree in Biochemistry, along with a minor in Mathematics. I spent three years working in a laboratory in Boston at Harvard Medical School, and returned to Greece in 2005. Since my return here, I have worked in the Sales Department of a surgical equipment-providing firm, translating usage manuals. l moved on to the Oncology Department of a major swiss pharmaceutical company, followed by a laboratory position at the hematology department of a major Greek public hospital. I am very eager to work, so please even though one might have doubts about my translating credentials, contact me nonetheless, and send me a sample text for me to translate. Thank you very much in advance. |
