Ruggedly constructed, these transmitters follow a RF TELECOMUNICAÇÕES tradition in that they are modular in format. A "common standardized" module design philosophy is used as far as possible within all RF TELECOMUNICAÇÕES transmitters to reduce costs, and, ultimately, their selling price.
Except for its externally mounted cooling blowers and its final visual and aural combiners, the 22 KW Model "TELAVO RTV-22000-T " is contained in three cabinets, thus maintenance and service accessibility is unsurpassed. The simplicity of design, the deployment of all modular and other subassemblies, and the use of standard readily available components, also enhances serviceability.
The design of the transmitter is based on principles of redundancy and on in phase and quadrature paralleling of a number of relatively low powered amplifier stages so that all of them contribute to the full rated output but are isolated each from the others so that the loss of any one, or several of them, will not put the station off the air.
This design is obviously of great benefit to all broadcasters, but particularly to those who operate "mission critical" programming in major markets, where the loss of air time could be intolerable.
All important transmitter parameters are monitored, and can be displayed on the meters built into the exciter and amplifiers. Additionally, all meter readings are available as DC signals for telemetry by remote control systems.
