I think this is a correct answer. However, from the context it seems that the "degree" of fix up should be better conveyed. The tone of the phrase(this sounds to me like a novel) when describing the horrendous state of the hotel, seems to warrant - literally - lifting it up or, more likely, rebuilding it. I think it would be useful to "localize" the original setting of this description, since it clearly uses slang.
