Spanish term

Conquistadores / Seductoras

CONQUEROR me suena a William The Conqueror y SEDUCTION queda horrible...

PUES A MI ME GUSTA

Peer comment(s):

agree Jennifer Callahan : In the context of a sociological study I think Conquerors and seduction are the most appropriate

womanizers and women who are ..... and play seductress

out to conquer (seduce)

maybe you could change it round and say they are conservative, organised and enjoy a conquest/out to conquer while women are more into seduction, though it sounds like a load of nonsense to me!

go-getters, acheivers, enterprising // persuasion

I think persuasion could be a good explanation of what they mean for the women here. I am not sure about the men, but I think it means they are more acheivers, go-getters,enterprising.

(not that I necessarily agree, of course!!)

agree AndyC : Yes. The only answer without a sexual connotation. The distinction is between those who tend to try to get their way by imposing (conquest), and those who try to do it through persuasion (seduction).

Casanovas/Don Juans for men sexy, seductive for women

It's very common to say that a man is a real Casanova or Don Juan, if you're not afraid of adapting the text a little bit.
Peer comment(s):

agree Guillermo Hernandez : I think this is the most frequent use I have ever heard, that keeps the original intent.

seductoras/ seducciòn: rapport, chutzpah

Tambièn en USA se "usa" mucho,

CHUTZPAH also spelled HUTZPAH del colorido y hermoso Yiddish (Hebreo)

winners and being seduced

I think winner is OK for conquitador and for the women I would say being seduced...rather than seductress...but I would not avoid the term altogether
