VE:

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Lab report
This appears repeatedly on a lab report (mostly blood work) from Argentina.

The results are listed and in the final column is
VE: [doctor's name]

There is no column heading.

It must be the doctor who ordered, ran, or reviewed the tests but I can't figure out what it stands for.

Suggestions/assistance is much appreciated!

Thanks for your suggestion, Charles. That thought crossed my mind too, but it definitely appears to be an E. I appreciate your taking the time to think about my query.
Charles Davis Jul 31, 2014:
Just a thought: could the E be a B? VB for visto bueno would make sense.

Just a guess. In many countries, lab reports must be signed off by a pathologist. I see "verified" on a lot of lab reports, though that can be an MD or a Quimico depending on the country.
