I think this could fit. Depending on what you need it for, it's not too specific. It could either refer to a serious medical disorder, such as a neuroma, or a person's nervous state.

It seems a figurative use of the word, maybe as 'estar hecho un lio'.
It also makes me think of the Andalusian "maharón" or "majarón" (http://fititu.es/definicion/andalucia-en-general/majara/), but that may be just coincidence.
