Spanish term
en apnea en eje corto

Medical
Medical: Cardiology
I'm translating a study on HDL cholesterol levels in acute coronary syndrome.
The phrase in question "en apnea en eje corto sincronizadas con el ECG" comes from the following sentence:
Las áreas con RTG fueron identificadas por inspección visual y se utilizaron secuencias precoces, en apnea en eje corto sincronizadas con el ECG, de disparo único Inversion Recovery-SSFP (IR-SSFP), usando tiempo de inversión (IT) prolongado, para diferenciar miocardio normal, miocardio necrótico y obstrucción microvascular (OMV).
RTG in the Spanish initials for Late Gadolinium Enhancement used in MRI.
I've translated the phrase as "synchronized with the ECG in the short axis for apnea" but I wonder if I'm missing the real meaning of this phrase.
My translation of the entire sentence is...
The areas with LGE were identified by visual inspection, and we used early sequences, synchronized with the ECG in the short axis for apnea, using single-shot inversion recovery-SSFP (IR-SSFP), using long inversion time (IT) to differentiate normal myocardium from necrotic myocardium and microvascular obstruction (MVO).
Any suggestions or is that the proper way to translate the phrase?
Thanks in advance

breath-hold, short axis
This is a proverbial nightmare to translate.
No evidence that “apnea” is used in this context.

Hope it helps!
