Spanish term

poligrafista

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Cardiology angiography / angioplasty
Spain: angiography/angioplasty report: list of staff: we have "primer operador, segundo operador, instrumentista, y poligrafista." What would the "poligrafista" be called in English? (word not even found in the DRAE). Thanks.

monitoring technician

Based on the descriptions provided by Panagiotis, this is the term that comes to mind. I don't find an overwhelming amount of references in Google, but this still appears to be a valid possibility.

See the term "monitoring technician" on page 22 of this report: http://www.danburyhospital.org/en/About-Us/Publications/~/me...

polygraph technician

Hi Lesley...not an easy one this...hope I am of some help

Could also simply be "polygraph operator"

The medical professionals which are normally involved are interventional cardiologists or possibly, radiologists, but I think the figure in question would be a technician type figure.

[invasive] cardiovascular technologist/cardiovascular invasive specialist

Just putting it out there—not even much of a suggestion, actually.
The references provided by Andrias suggest this is the person in charge of hemodynamic monitoring, keeping an eye on the waveforms etc.

I presume this is usually the job of registered nurses in most of the world, but there is a specific occupation in the U.S. known as an "invasive cardiovascular technologist", complete with accreditation as a "Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist" (RCIS), and this fits the job description perfectly.

Any interventional cardiologists or cath lab nurses around? :|

Hi there, Joseph... (well, in Greece this task is performed by a nurse anesthetist (CRNA)... if we actually deal with a nursing intervention, as "Funciones de Enfermera instrumentista, circulante, y poligrafista" could probably suggest... )
