Spanish term

sentar

Spanish to English Social Sciences History
Is "sentar" here something like "establish" or "record"?

Discussion

Bubo Coroman (X) Mar 22, 2011:
sentar and asentar "asentar" means to record as in bookkeeping. It seems sentar is being used in the same way.
Anthony Mazzorana (X) Mar 22, 2011:
yeah, establish,, record, document, etc. That's how I read it.
peter jackson (asker) Mar 22, 2011:
Or I suppose it could be "enter", too.

Either one would be fine here.

Ah, the subjunctive voice...I think you could use "register" as well, but either of the first two terms are fine. You are doing a fantastic job translating this text and another fantastic job keeping our minds and wits sharp! ¡Ánimo!

Just remember that you'll be the undisputed expert on the subject by the end of the project.
Note from asker:
Yes, I now see it is very simple but I got momentarily thrown by the "entrasen" - I think I need a break from 18th century accounting methods!
Thanks for the kind thoughts: Rarely have I felt so challenged by a text which I thought at first sight was quite simple. Luckily the deadline is very generous.
