Spanish term

centro ictiológico

FVA Spanish to English Science Fisheries
"El Centro Icitiológico de Arredondo tiene tres objetivos fundamentales el cultivo de juveniles autóctonos de salmón atlántico, la investigación sobre el estado actual y causas del declive del salmón en Cantabria y el estudio y conservación de nuestros ecosistemas fluviales y su divulgación." (https://www.cantabriarural.com/lugares-de-interes/centro-ict...

My first thought is "Fish Hatchery", yet it's much more than simply a hatchery.

Thanks in advance! ¡Mil gracias de antemano!

You don't sound convinced! Here are a couple of examples - you must be getting different Google results to me. I misspelt ichthyology in my answer.

You are welcome to join us in the ichthyology center for a casual evening of board games and conversation.

I think it's because you're using Spanish Google and I'm using the US version.
Note from asker:
I did contemplate using it, but it feels far too literal for me. If you google "Ichthyology center", the top hits - and only hits - are for the place I'm speaking of.
HUGE thanks, Phil, for those links. I don't know why I wasn't getting similar results!

Thanks for your suggestion, Barbara!
Peer comment(s):

neutral Toni Castano : No Barbara, not necessarily "marine". Please see below. // Yes, it does, but it also mentions Ulla River, that´s why I said you should examine the first reference below.

Well, the context does mention Atlantic salmon.
neutral philgoddard : It says "fluviales".

Centro ictiológico in English

Some of you may be surprised, but it does exist in English too. See here:

Following the pathway of the diadromous fish in the Ulla River.
(...)
Later, we will visit an ichthyologic center managed by Xunta de Galicia for the study of the populations of diadromous fish where we will participate in a talk about the ecological and cultural importance, the threats and the present state of the local populations of migratory fish.

Ichthyology
Ichthyology is the branch of zoology devoted to the study of fish, including bony fish (Osteichthyes), cartilaginous fish (Chondrichthyes), and jawless fish (Agnatha). According to FishBase, 33,400 species of fish had been described as of October 2016, with approximately 250 new species described each year.

Adjectives:
ich·thy·ol·o·gy
n.
The branch of zoology that deals with fishes.
ichthyologic, ichthyological adj.

The fact is that there are two adjectives that can be used in English, at least theoretically, but I am not sure if "icthyologic" is fully acceptable in all contexts. I believe Phil´s suggestion makes the most sense.
Note from asker:
Thanks, Toni! I have been trying to find examples of "Ichthyology center" that are not from Spain. I'm suspicious because I haven't found any yet.
