Spanish term

atravesados complementando a los sondeos.

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering geotechnical report
Hola!

I am having difficulty translating this term, taken from a geotechnical report on the construction of a kiosk and swimming pool.

The term is taken from the site geology section of the report as follows:

2.2.- RESULTADOS DE LOS ENSAYOS DE CAMPO Y PRUEBAS IN SITU
2.2.1.- RESULTADOS DE LAS PENETRACIONES DINÁMICAS
Estas prospecciones cuantifican la resistencia de los distintos niveles atravesados complementando a los sondeos.

I would appreciate any help..

Muchas Gracias!

Spanish term (edited): atravesados complementando a los sondeos
Selected

(the different levels) crossed, in addition to the trial holes

In other words, they measure the resistence of these different levels crossed or passed through, giving additional information to what has been learned from the trial holes.

'atravesados' relates to the distintos niveles, so your break-up of the phrase isn't helpful
Peer comment(s):

agree Sergio Campo : Agree, but Iwould not use trial holes in this context. Maybe "core drilling" or, better "drill core testing"

yes, thanks Sergio, I was going to put 'core sampling', which is how I usually translate this, but didn't feel I had enough context to be sure.

agree Sergio Campo : OK, but, IMO, soundings is out-of-context here.
