Russian to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Here is the context:

Он оставил своим преемникам пакеты акций предприятий и довольно крупные, обременяющие активы кредиты, которые теперь приходится гасить новому руководству.

assets...debts (here)

Iwould translate обременяющие активы кредиты as "debts encumbering its assets." I know kredity can be credits sometimes but I think debts gives a starker contrast between the two words.

This would be a more natural way of saying this. What it means is that the loans/debt were secured using the Company's assets.
