: Not to "slack" - this is an adjective. To "slacken" means to get slower or lazier, but it needs to be used with another verb to explain what it refers to. To "bum" needs to be "to bum around"// "To slack" not often used like this is in this sense/regist

Please check that "slack" is also a verb, although it is probably used more in AE. "bum about" is also frequent enough...
