neutral Jennifer Levey : 'phase shift' is commonly used, but is technically incorrect in the context mentioned in the question. The current/voltage phases in a reactive circuit are not 'shifted' - they're just 'different', or 'offset' from one another.

disagree Jennifer Levey : Sorry, but this is irrelevant to the question, which is simply referring to the 90degree phase difference between V and I in a reactive circuit.
