Japanese term

揃える

Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering automobiles
I'm trying to get a handle on the meaning of 揃える in this context. Normally, my understanding is that it has the sense of "line up" or "arrange such that it is uniform", but here nothing really springs to mind. Here is some context.

上記平均手段が、上記複数のデータ粗における各視線方向データを、平均化の条件として、車両位置座標の原点を揃えて加算平均した第一の平均化データを生成可能である。

Said averaging means can generate a first averaged data constituting an arithmetic mean while 揃えて the origin [? seems weird here?] of the vehicle position coordinates, while setting each line of sight direction datum in the above-described plurality of data sets the condition [target of?] for averaging.

I find this original rather fuzzy. "origin" doesn't make sense to me in the context, nor does the expression "averaging condition". Understanding 揃える in this context would be a good first step. Thanks for looking!

Align

This is to shift and align each coordinate system so the each origin from different data set can be compared.

superimposes (the origin points of the graphs...)

as in: Assuming as averaging condition the visual angle data found in the above mentioned bulk of raw data, a first round of everaging data can be generated that superimposes the origin points of the graphs plotting the vehicles' positions

but I also like, Cinefil's "normalise"

digesting what this sentence was driving at, perhaps "merge" might also be an option, as in: (freer translation, EdiSense style)
Assuming, as the averaging means, the visual angle data found in the above mentioned bulk of raw data, averaging those first makes it possible to merge the origin points of the graphs plotting the vehicle(s) position.
