I agree with post-it pad, and the U.S./British rule for singular/plural usage. As for the basketball question, "basket" is good alone, or "basketball hoop" can be used.

Post-it notes and basket ball hoop are fine, be awre though that "Haftnotizblock" is a generic term and "Post-it" is a brand name which has become a pseudo-generic term (like "Hoover" for vacuum cleaner in UK english). Companies take a singular in UK English - "Company XXY welcomes you to the conference" etc. "Bid in your sentence above is a past tense usage.
