Johanna, would you mind posting your suggestion as an answer. I would like to use excipient to solution for the glossary.
Thanks,

excipient to solution

Maybe this helps, this is from a similar discussion ;-) about the same term:
" 1ml excipient to solution
I've never seen any Latin terms left untranslated in any paient information leaflets in English.
Excipiens - is excipient, inactive part of a drug/binding agent
v/v - by volume
Ethanolum - ethanol
1ml excipient to solution - corresponding to 42% ethanol by volume"

simply omit it

...IMO there is no need for this additional text.

The section headline says "Excipients..." and then

"Drip solution: ethanol 49 % abv..."

IMO everything is 100% clear from that context!!

This Latin term might be used in English as well

True, the Google search terms are not very convincing. Maybe this helps, this is from a similar discussion ;-) about the same term:

Note from asker:
thank you, I know that this is Latin but was hoping for a corresponding English term. The Google search results don´t seem to be terribly convincing

agree Cetacea : This is not a patient information leaflet, but a "Fachinformation", which is directed at medical doctors and pharmacists, so I'd keep the Latin.
