Traditionelles orthopädisches Spektrum

Non-PRO German to English Medical Medical (general)
"Traditional orthopedic spectrum" ??

Again from a list of services and treatments offered by an orthopedic clinic. Just want to make sure I have the technical terminology right since the "spectrum" bit seemed stylistically odd to me. Thank you!!

I'd agree with Nick. And it's difficult to say from the German what the 'traditionell' refers to, but my guess is - as I said below - that it's an attribute of 'Spektrum'.

Traditional range, I think, otherwise it sounds like folk medicine. Maybe even standard rather than traditional range - just a thought

Thanks everyone for all of the suggestions up to this point. Another quick question though; would it be better as "range of traditional services/treatments" and not "traditional range of..."? Thanks again! :)

traditional range of orthopaedic treatments

I'd say that 'traditionaell' refers to the traditional 'Spektrum', i.e. the range, and the clinic wishes to point out that they offer the full range of traditional treatments. 'Spektrum' is one of those German words best not translated with 'spectrum' - IMHO - to me it sounds too technical for most contexts.

Agree with Karen about range but not about treatments. Is having a plaster cast made for an orthopaedic inner sole a treatment, for example? So \"traditional range of orthopaedic services\"

neutral Karin Walker (X) : Not sure a clinic or surgery would produce casts, for instance. Here such a thing would have to be purchased from a special shop (on prescription). But I see your point.

My son's cast was made in the doctor's surgery here in Austria, and the insole itself was done in a shop.
