I am translating a hopsital discharge report and am having trouble with the following:
Under "Diagnosen" -
Infektexacerbierte COPD bei persistierendem Tabakabusus
Art. Hypertonie
What is COPD and Art.?
Under "Therapie und Verlauf" -
In der Lungenfunktion zeigt sich eine gemischte Ventilationsstörung mit überwiegender Obstruktion mit einer VK von 1.35 l (53% vom Soll) und einer FEV1 von 0.61 l (30% vom Soll). Bei anfangs deutlich im Sinne einer respiratorischen Partialinsuffizienz eingeschränkten VGA mit einem pO2 von 42 mmHg, zeigen sich bei Kontrollen ....
Lastly: "Unter der weitergeführten häuslichen antihypertensive Therapie zeigen sich hier gute RR Werte."
If anyone can wade through this ton of context, I'd really appreciate some help!!

The above is COPD, according to Louis deSousa, Common Medical Abbreviations. FEV1 (subscript 1) is forced expiratory volume in one second. pO2 (subscipt 2) is partial pressure of oxygen.RR has a number of meanings, one is respiratory rate.
Art. - Pschyrembel Klinisches Wörterbuch lists arterielle as one type of Hypertonie.
You wrote BGA in one place and VGA in the other. Couldn't find either. Bunjes lists VK as Vitalkapazitaet. Good luck

Sorry, cannot help with all of them, but with the other answer you got a lot translated anyway. The FEV1 must be an exhalation volume of sorts. As for the VGA, did you mean that or the BGA as in your summary line?
