German term

Versorgungsfreibetrag

German to English Bus/Financial Law: Taxation & Customs Steuerrecht
This part of the text is way off my usual track. I can't find a good translation of this anywhere.

It is in a short paragraph concerning the company pension scheme.

Neben dem Werbungskosten-Pauschbetrag gemäß § 9 a Satz 1 Nr. 1 b EStG kann der Versorgungsfreibetrag gemäß § 19 Abs. 2 EStG berücksichtigt werden.

All help greatly appreciated.

non-taxable allowance on benefits would be my best bet here. The Versorgungen are not necessarily only related to pensions for civil servants (it depends on the rest of the context, of course).

Here's Paragraph 19 of EStG:

agree Ted Wozniak : but I would say "exemption FOR pension/retirement benefits" instead of "by way of"
