German term

selbständiges Erledigen von Korrespondenz nach Stichworten

German to English Bus/Financial General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
This is from the same reference letter. To be honest - I don't even know what that means in German...

Thanks again!

dealing independently with correspondence on the basis of brief notes

I assume this means that the boss jots down a few keywords or notes indicating how he/she wants a letter to be replied to, and then leaves it to the secretary/PA to draw up and send the letter.
Peer comment(s):

agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : that's how I would see it,too; pretty straightforward actually

agree Ken Cox : yep -- the boss just scribbles something like 'tell them to get lost' and the secretary translates this into a proper letter
