Discussion

Edith Kelly (asker) Apr 29, 2013:
Sanni maybe BE differs from Irish English but: cut cold meat is Wurstwaren in Ireland. And I indicated that minute steaks are cut.
Sanni Kruger (X) Apr 29, 2013:
I think Wendy's suggestion is the best, because quite often cut cold meats are arranged in attractive overlapping layers at the delicatessen counter. The context suggests that this is what is referred to.
Wendy Streitparth Apr 28, 2013:
Maybe one could use "layering" or arranging in layers.
Lis Liesicke Apr 28, 2013:
@edith sorry, yes tried to edit the large, but my system was playing up
Edith Kelly (asker) Apr 28, 2013:
Edith Kelly (asker) Apr 28, 2013:
Lis Liesicke Apr 28, 2013:
http://www.lokalkompass.de/langenfeld/ratgeber/schindelbrate...
here refers to Schindel as thick slices (Den Schweinenacken auslösen und das Fleisch in ca. 5 -10 mm dicke Streifen (Schindel) schneiden.)
Don't know if that helps at all

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Marga, I meantime saw the machine. It does not portion into shingles but lays the cut meat into shingles. So I will just enter the shingles bit in the glossary"
