French term

Stockage de plume

French to English Bus/Financial Transport / Transportation / Shipping
This can be found in a standard distribution agreement, in the logistics section:

Stockage de plume: palette perdue légère
stockage d’altère: palette perdue renforcée ou Europe

I'm stuck with plume and altère ...

thanks

I opted for the ChatGPT answer, I was interested to see what it would propose!
Samuël Buysschaert Sep 7, 2023:
@Thomas

Asker has the choice to opt for an AI-generated answer, it is not imposed as far as i know.

"This is how it works: when askers create a KudoZ question, they have the choice to opt for an AI-generated answer by simply checking the "AI-generated answer" box in the question form."

ChatGPT answer Jane, could you tell me whether you actively opted for the ChatGPT answer (which has made a comeback) or whether it was provided without any decision on your part?
Jane RM (asker) Sep 7, 2023:
I'm presuming this simply refers to the storage of light vs heavy goods, but I can't find anything to back this up ...

featherweight storage

poids-plume/s: a featherweight boxer can still pack a punch.

(h)altère : perhaps post the 'dumb-bell (testpiece)' separately as I cannot crack such searching and penetrating (mis-spelt?) questions, even with AI - abject idiocy.
Example sentence:

Léger : un matériau poids-plume et robuste, parfait pour la rando en mode léger et rapide. ; Système d'attache amélioré : facile à accrocher et à transporter ..

Avec ses 1,00 kg à la pesée, cet ultra-portable durable de 14″ est le plus léger de notre catalogue, ceci sans rogner sur la robustesse grâce à son châssis

Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : Yes, and haltère, heavyweight.

Plume storage

In this context, "stockage de plume" translates as "plume storage" in English. Plume refers to lightweight or fragile goods while "stockage" means storage. "Altère" refers to reinforced or heavy-duty goods.

Example sentences in English:
1. The company specializes in plume storage for delicate merchandise.
2. The logistics team ensures efficient plume storage to prevent any damage during transportation.
3. Please ensure appropriate plume storage measures are in place for these fragile items.
This is an AI-generated answer.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Colin Smith : This is utter drivel, why is it even here? "Plume storage" is a storage case for storing a marching band musician's plume, i.e. the feather on his/her hat. Altère is a declension of the verb altérer.

plume storage

Hello! Upon checking this term on google images, I found a site, an online forum about plumes with a plume storage image and a discussion about plume storage. So I'm pretty sure it is plume storage.

neutral Thomas Miles : Welcome to ProZ, Mihaela. I hope you find it useful for your studies and also as somewhere you can contribute your knowledge. My best advice is to avoid confirming a hunch using a web search, as you can usually find occurrences of any word combination!
