campsite job title
I'm helping a French person with her English CV, wearing my job-seekers' coach hat. One of her summer jobs was in a campsite, where she was a "placeur". I like "people placer", but I can't see that helping her find a job! (Not that this is the type of job she's looking for now). Here's an advert that describes the responsibilities in a different site:
http://www.gestion-de-camping.fr/job/job/851/placeur-chez-ph...
What on earth would we call this job in English? I don't think UK sites are big enough to need them. I know "placeur" can be distributor, agent, usher,... but none of them seem to quite fit here. BTW, I don't think the second point was included in her role. The receptionists did that.
One word that I cannot use here is receptionist, because she was also a receptionist at the same site.
Thanks for your help.

campsite representative/steward
The jobs of workers on UK holiday camps like Butlins Redcoats spring to my mind. The camper contact people are often called the reps/representatives in this situation and could be seen as a stewarding role.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewardship
Alternatively, the term Representative could be used in this case:
"A campsite representative organises and assists in the operation of allocated campsites for holidays provided by the company. The duties will mainly involve the cleaning and preparation of the accommodation, reception and administrative work like completing weekly reports and accounts."

Example sentence:
"Butlins refers to the holiday centres ....A redcoat refers to a STEWARD at a Butlins holiday camp"
"The campsite representative is the most important part of the Venue Holidays service."

Thanks, Lara. If it's good enough for Butlins...! |
4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.
Comment: "Thanks everyone. I thought "steward" most appropriate for a CV referring to a student holiday job."

campsite administrator
Just a thought. One job title might be difficult but it strikes me that 'administrator' covers a lot of what she did.

Site organiser
Can't think of anything else, but that's perhaps because I am **¨$ ered!!

campsite guest coordinator
The other answers seem appropriate, and I've never come across anyone in this job when I've been camping in the U.S. (maybe because I camp at public campsites), but I thought I'd take a stab at it.

Thanks Clarissa. Your link is to a permanent job but it is clearly an appropriate job title for this context. Just seems a bit overblown to me, personally, for a student showing people to their mobile homes. |

: I agree, but would say "services" rather than "service." In fact, I checked, and that's how it's stated on the site you reference.

Hello,
This sure seems what a "placeur" is in English (could meet all the job requirements listed in the term description area.

I think this is not nearly as high up as an administrator, etc. It's simply at attendant, imho.

Perhaps you could just say "Administrative clerk/Camp attendant", if you're worried that one wouldn't be inclusive of the other. But both job titles will have overlapping duties from the bit of research I've gathered. Why not then use the two titles with the slash? I see that a lot in job advertisements.

Clarissa Hull
: I found different info on the internet, according to which a camp attendant seems to be mostly in charge of cleaning duties: http://www.ensignenergy.com/pdf/careers/ESI_Camp Attendant.p... Maybe these are regional differences...

Thank you for the comment. I think "camp attendant" fits the bill more or less. The job duties described by a two different camp attendant positions will never be exactly the same (i.e., same task, percentage of time spent on each, etc).
