des points d'angle, ou des ménisques

French to English Medical Medical (general) orthopaedics - repair technique of posterior cruciate ligament with quadriceps tendon
Hi,

I just wanted to check they are talking about "stitches/sutures" here and that I haven't misinterpreted this. Here is the context:

des points d'angle (I think) = corner sutures

Thank you!

just a note to indicate again that there is also a posteromedial component

I am closing this question as I have found good references to support the use of "corners" here:

"corner" seems OK.

Hi Liz
There seems to be a point d’angle postéro interne and a point d’angle postéro externe which I think are groups of ligamentous/tendinous structures that stabilise the knee. Do you think these are what your text is referring to?

Having just looked again these seem to = corners

hmm, I need to look into this further.
It comes up later on too!

Paul Kozelka Aug 18, 2016:
If they are using an MRI, I would imagine they are dealing with fractures, not sutures, and points d'angle would more likely be verticies, reference points or view angles.

Corner points

The corner points are anatomical points of the knee that strength the knee joint capsule by bringing together meniscal structures, ligament and muscle. You has to be careful; those points are not referring to a single ligament.
