More context would help be sure you get the right words.
Giusi Pasi Feb 6, 2004:
Trust me. It isn't Latin. I'm moving it into French>English pair.
Non-ProZ.com Feb 6, 2004:
not very much sure that it is latin or french
Giusi Pasi Feb 6, 2004:
That's no Latin. It's French.

in bulk

if it's "acheter/vendre en masse" = buy/sell in bulk

if it's "produire/fabriquer en masse", then it would be mass-produce.

We need more context...

Why so parsimonious...

...with the source text?

We need to see the rest of the sentence. It wouldn't hurt to understand the CONTEXT (you know, is the letter about a contract or a murder trial?, is this from a country with civil or English Common Law?).

Just think of the word "boring"? Is a boring beetle uninteresting or does it drill holes?

By the by, in the field of wills and estates, "en masse" (and at least in Canada) is the translation for "hotchpotch".

"En masse"

The term DOES exist in English and it is used unchanged but it depends on context. =)
