armée de référence
From a section of an employment contract specifying the employee's pay. I can't make any sense whatsoever out of "armée de référence". The only translation I can find for "armée" is, well, army. That would be completely ludicrous in this context. If it's the past tense of "armer", I can't work out what noun it would be agreeing with (apart from "classification"). But from Google searches, it appears "armée" is a noun here. But what the whole phrase, "armée de référence" might mean, I have absolutely no clue. TIA for any light you can shed on this utterly mystifying term.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
