French term

Mesure d'irradiation d'un fut plombe

French to English Science Energy / Power Generation
Mesure d'irradiation d'un fut plombe -- there should be an accent circonflexe over the "u" in "fut" and an accent aigue over the "e" in "plombe" -- copying and pasting isn't working right now. Again, for this one, no context, it is just mentioned in a list ...... The text is for an electricity company. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Of course. Any sense of humour here? You changed my name, I changed yours. Margarita is beautifull. Saludos cordiales desde México.
margaret caulfield Jun 4, 2008:
I'd say it's obvious that was a mere "typo" Jacob.
Juan Jacob Jun 4, 2008:
Jacob, no Jacov. Gracias.
margaret caulfield Jun 4, 2008:
Juan Jacob, me llamo Margaret y no Margarita. ¿Verdad que yo no te llamo John Jacob? Pues, lo mismo. Gracias.
Juan Jacob Jun 4, 2008:
inglés (monolingüe) in your profile. How come do you -pretend- translate from French?
Juan Jacob Jun 4, 2008:
We are translators: how come can't you put accents? It's not just "copying and pasting". Fût, simple. Plombé, simple. Gee.

measuring radiation emissions from a lead-sealed drum

Cutting and pasting works for me!

<<Mesure d’irradiation d’un fût plombé>>

The picture thus captioned at http://www.edf.fr/fichiers/fckeditor/File/EDF-Nos-Energies/N...
shows a man with a meter beside the drum, so "mesure" here has to be not the value or level recorded by measuring but the action of measuring.

Oops, meant to say "lead-lined".

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you. What I meant was that the copying and pasting was not working on my computer, not on the system. And as far as I know, there is no way to enter accents by typing into the quesiton boxes. Thank you Margaret, for your post!! "

radiation level from a lead(-lined) container/flask

Lead is the material of choice for absorbing radiation, hence lead containers are used for keeping and transportingradioactive sources.
Peer comment(s):

agree Bourth (X) : Unless it's the action of measurement, not the value obtained.
