French term

risque 10%

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Survey results
In a survey comparing two coffees, analysing results.
Thanks for any help.

with a 10% margin of error

With a value of 10% the term "au risque 10%" could refer either to statistical significance or margin of error. Because statistical significance is not mentioned, one must assume that "au risque 10%" refers to the margin of error.

Statistically speaking, these results are not provided in a very professional way.
Peer comment(s):

agree Rob Grayson : In other words, any difference will only be considered significant if it is greater than 10%, in order to allow for the margin of error. I agree that these results are not presented professionally and clearly.

agree B D Finch : It is margin of error. Statistical significance levels should be set in advance of the research and are defined as levels of confidence. One would expect the level of confidence to be in the the region of 90-95%. The margin of error is calculated after.
