time distribution unit
In large buildings they have "time distribution", a system that ensures all the clocks, etc. indicate or use the same time. Don't know if it's applicable to your system, but it's possible that different equipment in different locations has to work to the same beat, man.

It certainly could be "timing unit", but remember that planes are all electronic and "time distribution" seems to be something used in reference to electronic systems. Pour l'anecdote, a local pilot I was talking to the other day says he's been taken off Fokkers and is training to fly a different plane. He says he flies a computer.

That's translation 4U: there R times when a boîtier is quite literally a "box", and times when it isn't.

: Hi, I would steer away from "sharing" too..can be emotional except for job sharing..then very emotional..Terry, this is not a criticism. Such a lack of context has us all guessand. There must be a specific term. This is in Aircraft Specification..
