A dropbox is a secure container (not necessarily a box), such as a mailbox, clothing bin, etc

A secure container used as a clothing bin seems to fit in here.

: Could be for customer returns or for goods that are found to be faulty, or damaged in-store - clothes to be returned to the manufacturer. But that's partly guesswork ;)

: An agree also to Sheila Wilson! This box could be used for the returned items which have to be rigged up with those magnetic anti-theft devices again before they are available for sale again.

in-door drop- boxes
I think you need to check this one with your client to be sure but I would usually think of a drop-box as an -door slot with box for dropping off payments or mail or returning items.
It could also be a drop-off box for UPS delivery or shipment. (A bank drop-off box is the slot for dropping off overnight deposits whereas a charity shop box would be for people who want to donate items so very different!)
See some examples here, especially the wall-mounted or "through-the-wall" locking boxes
