An insubstantial piece of journalism (often sentimental). Is there an equivalent substantive (as opposed to re-phrasing it)?
Examples:
"When her boss fears celebrity reporter Cynthia Tamerline has lost her edge, he sends her to tiny Slow Creek, Illinois as punishment to do a fluff piece on a wishing well."
"Every Valentine's Day, the Gazette sheds light on one or two campus romances for some easy human interest fluff."
"The ABC new item is a piece of fluff which ventures into the realm of fantasy tabloid aka 'Elvis Abducted By Aliens' style."

un artículo de relleno
Así es como lo expresaría yo. Esta acepción de relleno está aceptada por la RAE, como puedes comprobar en el enlace que te pogno abajo, y su uso está muy extendido.

Comment: "That seems to be the closest. I like Toni's 'insustancial' though.
